Essex Eagles won the inaugural Twenty20 Floodlit Cup after beating hosts Derbyshire by 92 runs in the final. An opening stand of 60 between Mark Pettini (53) and Ronnie Irani (33) took Essex to 189-7 after they were put in.
And Tony Palladino took three wickets to bowl the Phantoms out for 97 in reply, last man Kevin Dean run out with 5.2 overs to spare.
The tournament featured the four sides with permanent floodlights - Essex, Sussex, Glamorgan and Derbyshire.
Matches were played over two legs but the first leg of the final was abandoned as a draw after heavy rain in Chelmsford on Wednesday.
