Monty Panesar translated his Test form to the County Championship arena as Northamptonshire bowled out Glamorgan for 204 on day one at Sophia Gardens.

Panesar took 5-67 in 25 overs with only Dan Cherry - who made 71 in three hours - able to really repel the left-arm spinner's almost constant threat.

His first wicket came when Michael Powell was bowled, and he also collected two lbws and a stumping.

In reply, the visitors were 119-2 at stumps, with Chris Rogers on 57.
