County Championship, Division Two, Grace Road (stumps day one): Leicestershire 170 v Somerset 90-3Andy Caddick claimed a five-wicket haul for the fourth time this season as Somerset bowled Leicestershire out for only 170 on day one at Grace Road.
But on a pitch giving help to the bowlers, Foxes seamer Nick Walker took 3-26 as the visitors closed on 90-3.
Caddick, 37, won the toss and after a 30-minute rain delay seamed and swung the ball to finish with 5-46.
It would have been worse for the hosts but for HD Ackerman's 53 and 43 from David Masters, which could be crucial.
Walker trapped Neil Edwards lbw and had Wes Durston caught at cover in an impressive opening spell.
He returned to have James Hildreth caught at point off the last ball of the day to give Leicestershire hope.
Earlier, Caddick produced a perfect yorker to knock back Darren Robinson's off stump, John Sadler edged to third slip and Paul Nixon was leg-before to one hat nipped back as the home side staggered into lunch on 56-5.
Claude Henderson fell soon after the interval to Caddick and the veteran yorked Walker, who flailed away to score 21 off 25 balls.
