NatWest Pro40 D2, New Road: Worcestershire 226 bt Kent 221-7 by five runs
Zaheer Khan hit 42 and took 4-29 to help Worcestershire beat Kent by five runs in Pro40 Division Two at New Road. The hosts were dismissed for 226, with Lou Vincent (61) and Vikram Solanki (34) the other main contributors.
Kent were cruising when Darren Stevens (66) and Martin van Jaarsveld (73), who added 97 in 16 overs but Zaheer had the latter caught at backward square-leg.
The visitors lost five wickets in six overs and Worcestershire celebrated their second win in the competition.
Worcestershire looked set for a much bigger total thanks to Vincent and Solanki, who hit one Dexter over for 25 runs.
Three wickets from off-spinner James Tredwell instigated a Worcestershire slump to 178-8.
But Zaheer hit four fours and two sixes in his highes one-day score off 38 balls until he was last out, caught at long-off in the final over by Amjad Khan.
