Surrey leg spinners Anil Kumble and Ian Salisbury did the damage on day one of the Division Two game at Worcester.

The pair took nine wickets between them, with Indian star Kumble claiming 5-80 and Salisbury 4-89.

Stephen Moore (44) and Phil Jaques put on 97 for the first wicket for the hosts, with Jaques top scoring with 95.

Worcestershire's only other notable contribution was Daryl Mitchell's unbeaten 54, while Surrey reached 42-0 in reply before the close of play.
