The Red Rose could have been in trouble at 130-4 after New Zealaner all-rounder Nathan Astle was out for a duck on his Lancashire debut.
But Stuart Law steered Lancashire towards victory with 68 and an unbeaten 33 from Dominic Cork guided Lightning to a date with Sussex at Lord's on 26 August.
In the end Lancashire won the north conference by two points after their nearest rivals Durham lost to Derbyshire.
