Sussex celebrate at the Riverside
Sussex ripped through the Durham batting again at the Riverside
Sussex's potent Pakistan bowling duo Rana Naved and Mushtaq Ahmed destroyed Durham with five wickets apiece to inspire an innings victory on day two.

Mushtaq claimed a remarkable 5-12 as Durham were bowled out for 80, some 39 runs from making Sussex bat again.

Earlier England paceman Steve Harmison shrugged off the effect of an enforced lay-off by taking 4-43.

Harmison picked up 4-19 from 11 overs on the second morning as Sussex were dismissed for 229, a lead of 119.

Sussex began the day on 119-2 but soon lost Michael Yardy, who fell lbw to Graham Onions for 17.

Harmison then produced a fiery spell which accounted for Murray Goodwin (42), Prior (two) and Chris Adams (19).

Robin Martin-Jenkins survived for almost two hours for his valuable 49, the top score in the match, before he was last man out when Onions (2-67) won another lbw decision to take his seasonal total to 22 victims.

On a perfectly respectable batting wicket, Durham reduced their deficit to just 72 with all 10 second innings wickets intact before Mushtaq struck with his third, fourth and sixth deliveries.

Adams held a sharp slip catch to dismiss Mimmy Maher, Gordon Muchall was lbw to bag a pair and Gary Pratt top-edged a sweep to mid-wicket.

After an unusually expensive opening spell, Naved tempted Dale Benkenstein to edge to first slip and had Gareth Breese caught at second in his next over.

Having uprooted Ottis Gibson's off-stump with a fast, swinging yorker. Naved finished the match at 1630 BST when he pinned Mick Lewis lbw, the 19th wicket taken by the overseas duo in Sussex's triumph.
