County Championship D2, Worcester, day one (close): Glamorgan 133-3 v Worcestershire Australian batsman Mark Cosgrove smashed 61 from 91 balls as Glamorgan reached 133-3 on a rain-hit opening day against Worcestershire at New Road.
When play began almost two hours late, the powerful left-hander shared 102 with Dan Cherry to frustrate the home side, who had opted to bowl first.
Cosgrove hit Nadeem Malik over long-off for six and also struck 11 fours.
Zaheer Khan ended the partnership with his 20th Championship wicket in only three appearances for Worcestershire.
Khan was errant in his opening spell, with Kabir Ali causing more problems.
However, Kabir was hit for successive square drives to the boundary by Cosgrove, although his yorker accounted for Cherry.
Zaheer was warned for running on the wicket but returned to oust Michael Powell, giving keeper Steve Davies a second catch.
Meanwhile, New Zealand paceman James Franklin bowled two spells on the outside nets and if scans on his knee are favourable, he could feature for Glamorgan in the C&G Trophy at the weekend.
