Bowlers secure Lancashire victory
C&G Trophy, Old Trafford: Lancashire 194-8 (50 overs) bt Leicestershire 125 (40.4 overs) by 69 runs

Lancashire put in a disciplined bowling performance to see off Leicestershire by 69 runs at Old Trafford in the North Division of the C&G Trophy.

The hosts were limited to 194-8, with Andrew Crook and Mark Chilton making 42 and Dinesh Mongia claiming 4-25.

Leicestershire were always struggling in reply despite 38 from John Maunders.

Tom Smith took 3-8 off eight overs and fellow seamer Sajid Mahmood returned to claim 3-49 as the visitors were dismissed for 125 in the 41st over.

Lancashire had problems of their own and were thankful for big sixes from Smith and Kyle Hogg near the end to get close to 200.

However, it mattered little when they put in an energetic display in the field, capped by Mahmood's two wickets in an over.
