County Championship Division One, Headingley, day one (close): Kent 18-1 v Yorkshire 310
Australian Darren Lehmann smashed his fifth Championship century of the season to rescue Yorkshire, with Kent closing 292 behind the Tykes at 18-1.
Yorkshire were 166-7 but Lehmann hit Tyrone Henderson over mid-wicket for six to move into the 90's and reached 100 soon after tea from 121 balls.
The big left-hander was last out, caught at short mid-wicket after 19 fours and four sixes in a total of 310.
Kent then lost David Fulton who was caught in the slips for six.
It was Lehmann's second big score in consecutive innings against Kent, having
taken 193 off their attack at Canterbury in May.
The innings was badly needed after Amjad Khan got rid
of Craig White and Joe Sayers in a fiery burst with the new ball and Simon Cook captured 5-36, Kent's best figures of the season.
