No play was possible on the first day of Glamorgan's penultimate Division Two match with leaders Nottinghamshire at Sophia Gardens.

The contest was due to begin at 1340 BST but bad light and then heavy rain put paid to any chance of play.

Nottinghamshire won the toss and had chosen to bat first.

With both captains eager to play the umpires agreed to hold on for a 1600 BST inspection but the outfield had not dried sufficiently.
