Worcs flail in the rain
County Championship D1, New Road, day two (stumps): Northamptonshire 311 v Worcestershire 75-4

Worcestershire were plunged deeper into trouble in the 15.5 overs that were bowled on a rain-hit second day against Northants at New Road.

South African seamer Johann Louw did the damage as the hosts fell from an overnight 14-2 to 75-4 at the close of play, a deficit of 236 runs.

Louw removed opener Stephen Peters and skipper Ben Smith (both caught) to take his innings figures to 3-32.

Graeme Hick and Vikram Solanki then held firm to add 35 unbroken runs.
