Sussex hit out at Notts
County Championship D1, Trent Bridge, day two (close): Nottinghamshire v Sussex 350-4

Title-chasing Sussex set about getting a big score against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Having lost the first day's play to rain, second-placed Sussex did not want to hang around with the bat.

Murray Goodwin was in fine form, smashing 148 off 207 balls, including 24 fours and two sixes.

Tony Cottey weighed in with a half-century and Chris Adams made a quickfire 46 off 56 balls.

Rain stopped play early, with Robin Martin-Jenkins unbeaten on 34 and Michael Yardy 18 not out.
