![]() | Thursday, 25 April, 2002, 19:07 GMT 20:07 UK Peng bucks trend ![]() Cork took five wickets against Durham County Championship D2, Derby, day two of four: Derbyshire 263 & 190-9 v Durham 258 A keenly contested match was developing at Derby with Dominic Cork and Nicky Peng the leading lights on day two. Peng hit a fine century for the visitors before becoming the last of Cork's five victims. He came to the crease with the score 95-3, but it soon became 112-4 with both Martin Love and Paul Collingwood dismissed in the forties. But although Peng was untroubled, partnerships eluded Durham until number 10 Mark Davies - who hit 15 not out - was able to stay around long enough to help Peng put on 73 for the ninth wicket. Durham were ultimately all out five runs shy of Derbyshire's total, and the home side's second-wicket pair of Michael di Venuto and Andrew Gait put on 66 to build their lead further in the second innings. But Derbyshire could not build on their good work and managed just 190 for nine at stumps, with Paul Collingwood taking three for 26.
