An unbeaten 125 from opener Michael Vaughan saw Yorkshire stroll to victory in their Benson & Hedges quarter-final at Taunton.

The England batsman and Australian Darren Lehmann put on an unbroken stand of 140 for the third wicket to see them home with 13.2 overs in hand.

Vaughan slammed 18 fours and a six in his 128-ball stay while Lehmann cracked as boundary to seal the win and also bring up his hal;f-century.

He finished on 51 not out.

England bowler Andy Caddick was expensive, conceding 57 runs from his 10 overs and pikcing up the wikcet of David Byas.

But Somerset's bowlers could not tie down the Yorkshire batsmen and were made to pay by Vaughan and Lehmann.

Somerset had got off to a good start with half-centuries from captain Jamie Cox and Peter Bowler.

Impressive Gough

But they lost their way in the second half of their innings after being 131 for one with 20 overs remaining to stutter to 210 for seven.

The slump coincided with Cox's dismissal and Bowler followed in trying to up the tempo.

Earlier Darren Gough removed England colleague Marcus Trescothick in the seventh over after Cox won the toss and elected to bat.

Trescothick drove to Lehmann at short-extra cover.

Gough returned the impressive figures of one for 18 from his 10 overs.
