A tense finale saw Lincolnshire lose by one run to Hertfordshire in their Minor Counties match at Cleethorpes.

Chasing 272 after bowling Herts out for 166, Lincs slipped to 91-5 before Mat Dowman (44) and Brett Houston (59) put on 87 for the sixth wicket.

Tail-enders Adam Shepherd and Alex Osmond's ninth-wicket stand of 45 then took them to the brink of victory.

But Jason McNally (6-89) dismissed last man Carl Taylor to leave Lincs on 270 all out and snatch the win for Herts.
