St Johns continue to lead the Standard Bank Premiership after an emphatic 132 run victory over last year's winners Castletown on Sunday. Jaco Jansen hit 115 in a stand of 180 with Greg Hawke as Saint set a big target of 253 for 7. The southerners then faced a fiery attack and were bowled out for 121 despite a fine 54 from former Zimbabwean test player Travis Friend. Akkie van der Berg claimed 4-47 and Jansen finished with 3-27. Meanwhile, Cronkbourne and Ramsey both won to keep the pressure on St Johns at the top of the table. Cronkbourne were set a substantial target of 217 for 9 by Valkyres at Tromode but openers Mike Hebden and Max Stokoe knocked-off the runs without losing a wicket. Hebden completed a fine century finishing with an unbeaten 102, whilst Stokoe finished with 95. Crosby made a strong start against Ramsey and were looking good at 62 for 2 before the northerners captain Ollie Webster bowled a great spell of 6 wickets for 15 runs from ten overs. The Marown team were dismissed for 104 and Ramsey got the runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
