England batsman Kevin Pietersen will quit one-day internationals after the World Cup so he can concentrate on playing Test and Twenty20 cricket, as well as spending more time with his family.

India coach Gary Kirsten has confirmed he will leave his position after the World Cup. "It has been great memories of the last three years and I have enjoyed every moment," the South African said.

India batsman Yuvraj Singh says he is content with his batting form ahead of the competition. Australia fast bowler Brett Lee has paid tribute to his doctor for helping him recover from a career-threatening elbow injury. "I think most of the people, whether it's the players or journalists or anyone back home, thought that I couldn't come back to bowl again because I had a pretty intense arm surgery on my elbow," he said.
