And rubbing salt into Australia's wound, Prior decided it was his turn to cash in with a Test century. On reaching his milestone it was evident just how much this century meant to him. With the bat he has been aggressive as usual, but it has been his energy and enthusiasm in the field that has been the infectious spark for England to build on, every single day of the series. He has been like an energiser battery from day one, running around, encouraging his mates and keeping wicket with phenomenal athleticism. Before the summer started we had been hearing about his excellent work ethic and like many of his team-mates he has been rewarded for his efforts. This trend of not turning starts into match-winning centuries has been one of the most significant factors in the outcome until now. Great teams and great players score hundreds, without them everyone suffers. While England should take a great deal of credit for the way they have suffocated our batsmen with relentless pressure, we will need to work hard to remedy this problem. Honestly speaking, today has been a really tough watch, but when I think about it, there have been plenty of similar days this summer. From Sydney, JL
