Kieswetter averages 26 from 12 one-day internationals for England |
Craig Kieswetter smashed 113 off 121 balls as the England Performance Programme side beat Western Australia A by seven wickets in a four-day match. He struck five sixes as England chased down their target of 248. It came on the same day he was left out of the one-day international squad but included in the Twenty20 party for the forthcoming series against Australia. The home side had resumed on 175-8 but spinner Danny Briggs took the final two wickets to finish the match with seven. The 19-year-old Hampshire slow left-armer helped to dismiss the Western Australians for 199 at Lark Hill, near Perth. Kieswetter then shared 104 for the first wicket with Adam Lyth, who made 38, and 99 with skipper James Hildreth, who was later out for 63. Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Kieswetter, 23, was dismissed with his team 45 runs short of victory but Jonny Bairstow helped the tourists over the winning line with an unbeaten 24.
