![]() | Saturday, 26 August, 2000, 19:29 GMT 20:29 UK Harvey could quit county scene ![]() Ian Harvey has made an impact at Gloucestershire Gloucestershire's star all-rounder Ian Harvey has said he is considering quitting county cricket due to the sheer number of matches played. The Australian one-day player has been a key man in Gloucestershire's limited-overs success which sees them bidding to win a fourth successive Lord's final against Warwickshire this weekend. But the 28-year-old admitted that the demands of the gruelling English season were causing him to contemplate finishing his spell with the west country outfit at the end of the current campaign. Harvey said: "In one way I'd love to come back but you play so much cricket over here and it's hard getting up and up all the time to play every game. Wait and see "There are times when I just can't get on top of it. I will be giving it my best shot to help the guys win the NatWest Trophy. "After defeating Middlesex last week I also still think we can win promotion to the First Division of the county championship. "I want to be part of that as well but beyond that we will just have to wait and see." Harvey has taken nine wickets in three one-day finals for Gloucestershire and if he decides to return Down Under full-time, it will be a huge blow for coach John Bracewell's side. | See also: Other top Cricket stories: Links to top Cricket stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
