An emphatic eight-wicket win over Walsall kept second-placed Shrewsbury in the Birmingham League title hunt. Ryan Bishop scored an unbeaten 83 as Shrewsbury (174-2) went past Walsall's 171-8 with more than 20 overs to go. Shrewsbury lie 15 points behind the Premier Division leaders Knowle, but 22 ahead of the chasing pack. Wendell Wagner hit 42 in Wellington's 212-9, but they were held to a winning draw by Moseley (152-8). Mark Downes took three wickets. Shifnal lost their First Division fixture against Brockhampton by five wickets, despite posting an impressive 309-6. Tom Collins carried his bat for 123, Martyn Davies hit 80 and Anthony Parker made 48 for Shifnal, but they were outscored by Brockhampton's 313-5. In Division Two, Bridgnorth made easy work of beating Aston Manor. Jono Whitney took 5-23 to polish off Manor for 70. An unbeaten 46 from David Exall guided Bridgnorth (74-1) to a nine-wicket success. Whitchurch managed a six-wicket win over Tamworth, who crashed to 124 all out. Maz Hasnain took 4-20, before Richard Oliver (77 not out) and Simon Bowen (31) guided the home side to 125-4. St George's are rooted to the bottom of the table after another defeat - this time by 165 runs to Berkswell. Oswestry managed just 137 against Fordhouses, but Mudassir Pasha (4-50) then made the Third Division leaders fight hard for a four-wicket victory. In the Shropshire Premier League, Madeley stretched their lead at the top to 12 points after a comfortable victory over Bomere Heath.
