Shropshire slipped to second in the Minor Counties western division after a single-wicket defeat by Oxfordshire. Having set a victory target of 322, they could not oust the last pair - despite Elliot Green taking five wickets on his first county start. "While he bowls for Shrewsbury in the Birmingham League that was quite a debut," the county's Colin Barthorpe told BBC Radio Shropshire. Shropshire are now two points behind new leaders Dorset. Another highlight for Shropshire was the 92 scored by captain Ed Foster in their second innings, but it was not enough as Oxfordshire won the game with just five balls to spare.
Shropshire 353-9 and 262 - Ed Foster 92, Johno Whitney 55 Oxfordshire 294 and 322-9 Elliot Green 5-78 Oxford won by 1 wicket
