Devon failed to capitalise on a first innings lead as they were bowled out cheaply by Herefordshire in their second innings on day two. Devon had a 77-run lead after the first innings, but Herefordshire fought back to bowl out their visitors for 156. That left the home side needing 234 to win, and they quickly set about chasing the target, reaching 50-2 at the close of play on day two. Devon need eight wickets to win, while Herefordshire need 184 runs. Left-arm spinner Charlie Griffiths was the star for Herefordshire in Devon's second innings, taking 5-40 as he ran through Devon's batsmen.
