Captain Paul Collingwood is hoping star batsman Kevin Pietersen will be fit to face Pakistan in England's must-win World Twenty20 match on Sunday.

Pietersen missed the four-wicket loss to the Netherlands after suffering a recurrence of his Achilles problem.

Collingwood said: "You always miss a player like that. Not only for his experience but also his power-hitting.

"He woke up and felt very sore, which was a surprise to him and to the rest of us. Hopefully he will be fit."
