Allan Border's Australia outperformed England in all departments and cruised to a comfortable 3-0 series win.
England - specifically David Gower and John Morris - hit the heights in a Tiger Moth aircraft, but rarely on the cricket pitch. Gower would probably have been sent home for his much-publicised prank (flying over the ground during an England game against Queensland) had he not be one of the few English players in form; his sublime century in the Second Test at Melbourne couldn't prevent an eight wicket defeat, which put England 2-0 down in the series.
Bruce Reid, Australia's 6'7" fast bowler, was the chief destroyer at the MCG and in this series, taking 27 wickets in four Tests. A brilliant century on debut from Mark Waugh at Adelaide was another highlight, suggesting years of Australian dominance lay ahead.
