Inspired by Geoff Lawson's 34 wickets, and a big century on debut from South African-born Kepler Wessels, Australia won back the Ashes after five years in English hands.
The series features one of the all-time great finishes to an Ashes Test: England's win by three runs at the MCG, courtesy of Geoff Miller's dramatic slip catch after the ball had been parried by Chris Tavare.
That win reduced Australia's lead to 2-1 with one Test to play, but a draw at Sydney ensured the Ashes went Down Under.
