Ken Barrington's double century helps England secure a draw in a high-scoring Test at Old Trafford. England - with Barrington's 256 and a knock of 174 by Ted Dexter - scored 611 in reply to Australia's 656 for 8 declared.
While not a thrilling Test, it gave England fans a chance to see Barrington at his best. This was his first Test century in England, having hit nine abroad.
