Boucher saw South Africa home in the third one-day match in Sydney |
Mark Boucher will miss the rest of South Africa's tour of Australia after fracturing his left big toe. The South African wicketkeeper was struck on the foot by a yorker from Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait in the third ODI in Sydney on Friday. South Africa have named a 12-man squad for the fourth match in Adelaide on Monday, with the additions of Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Morne Morkel. The tourists lead the five-match one-day series 2-1. South Africa coach Mickey Arthur said the aim was to get Boucher fit for the first Test against the Australians in Johannesburg on 26 February. | 606: DEBATE | Boucher hit an unbeaten 31 as South Africa beat Australia by three wickets in Sydney. "Mark showed tremendous courage in batting for 45 minutes with the injury to get us home," said Arthur. "The position is complicated by the fact that there is also a displaced bone and Mark will be seeing an orthopaedic surgeon on Tuesday. "He will stay with the team and fly home with the rest of the squad on Saturday." Van Jaarsveld had to pull out of fielding practice after spraining his right ankle, while Jacques Kallis is suffering from an abdominal side strain. A decision will be taken on Monday on whether the injury means Kallis will play as an all-rounder or as a batsman only. Bowler Nathan Bracken has been ruled out of Monday's match through injury for the Australians.
