Hick last played for England in March 2001 |
Ex-England batsman Graeme Hick is to join the Indian Cricket League (ICL) for the remainder of the competition. Hick, 42, has signed for Chandigarh Lions after they lost Chris Cairns and Dinesh Mongia to suspension. The Lions currently sit fifth in the round-robin stage of the controversial Twenty20 tournament and have three matches remaining. Hick, who played 65 Tests, retired from county cricket with Worcestershire at the end of the 2008 season. The Zimbabwe-born veteran scored 41,112 runs in a 25-year career. With his first-class career over, he is unlikely to be affected by the sanctions imposed on players involved in the tournament, which is yet to be sanctioned by the International Cricket Council.
