The money-spinning Stanford Super Series Twenty20 competition begins on Saturday as the Stanford Superstars entertain Trinidad & Tobago in Antigua.
Cavalier West Indies batsman Chris Gayle leads the Superstars, who also include Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
They will face the West Indian domestic Twenty20 winners in a warm-up for Trinidad's match with Middlesex on Monday, which is worth up to �193,500.
England play Gayle's team on 1 November when the winners will collect $20m.
The Superstars squad is comprised of players from around the domestic West Indian circuit, while former Windies skipper Ramnaresh Sarwan and international fast bowlers Daren Powell and Jerome Taylor also feature.
But talented all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will be a notable absentee after recovering from ankle surgery in August, and he is facing a battle to be fit for England's tour of the Caribbean next year.
Trinidad & Tobago - captained by Daren Ganga and who include Bravo's brother Darren - and Middlesex, led by evergreen spinner Shaun Udal and featuring England Test opener Andrew Strauss, will both receive $100,000 (�64,875) for their three appearances in the series.
The winner of the match between the two clubs on Monday will collect an extra $180,000 (�116,227), with the man of the match receiving a further $20,000 (�12,914).
"It puts West Indies cricket on the map," explained Ganga, who has played 48 Tests and 35 one-day internationals for the West Indies.
"It's the biggest purse in history for a sporting event, so it's going to have the entire world glued on to what's going to happen here.
"From a Trinidad & Tobago perspective, competing against England and Middlesex gives us the opportunity to enhance our reputations as a team and as individuals."
