Talks between the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) and rebel Twenty20 group the Indian Cricket League have broken down.

The International Cricket Council asked the BCCI to meet ICL officials for the first time to discuss whether the event could receive official recognition.

But BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said: "The talks failed and there are no plans for any further meeting."

The BCCI issues a life ban to any Indian player competing in the ICL, which is not sanctioned by the ICC.
