Defending Yorkshire Premier League champions York are targeting a win over local rivals Harrogate on Saturday after their final-ball defeat at Hull. Seamer Neil Laidlaw said after the last weekend's loss: "We need to improve, we need more ideas and more energy. "In the last over nerves got to everyone and it just slipped away." Harrogate skipper David Stiff said: "York will want to get back to winning ways and we're going to have to go all out to try and stop them." Harrogate are joint bottom of the table with three games gone after they lost to last season's whipping boys Appleby-Frodingham. Stiff added: "We've got to put it straight to the lads really that we've had three disappointing games. "We've got to see the game against York as a big opportunity. We're playing a top team and we should really be up for it and try and prove a point." Scarborough took three points from last week's cancelled match with Castleford which was enough to lift them off the bottom of the table and into tenth place. This week they entertain a Cleethorpes side who have won once and lost twice. Skipper Darren Harland has Ashley Lyth back from playing football with Whitby but does not expect to see as much of his younger brother Adam this season because he is threatening to break into the Yorkshire side.
