Jersey will be looking to impress their new coach against Guernsey |
Jersey face Guernsey in two one-day games at Grainville this weekend in preparation for the 2008 season. Jersey's new coach, the former South African Test player Peter Kirsten, will get a first look at his players. Guernsey captain Stuart le Prevost admits the games are not hugely important, but that it is always good to beat the old enemy. "It'll be nice to get a win but at the end of the day it's to get everyone together," he told BBC Guernsey. "But we will put in a decent couple of performances and try and get the results," For the first time ever the two sides will wear their traditional island colours of red and green respectively. And for the first time in an inter-insular the sides will use a white ball. Jersey beat Guernsey by a single run in the inter-insular last year.
