In-form Eoin Morgan scored 59 not out in Abu Dhabi

Ireland continued their build-up to next week's one-day internationals against Bangladesh by beating Essex in a 35-over game in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Essex made 196-6 with Andre Botha claiming 4-36 and Greg Thompson picking up the other two wickets.

Reinhard Strydom's 73 and Eoin Morgan's 59 not out helped the Irish past the Essex total with six wickets and eight balls to spare.

Ireland play their opener against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

The other two full one-day internationals follow on Thursday and Saturday.

Morgan's innings followed his unbeaten 196 in Wednesday's game against an Abu Dhabi Eleven which helped the Irish claim a 25-run victory.
