Zimbabwe confirm tour to Pakistan

The first ODI takes place in Hyderabad on 26 January
Zimbabwe Cricket insists the team will tour Pakistan later this month despite fears over the security situation.

Zimbabwe are scheduled to play five one-dayers beginning on 26 January, but concerns have been raised following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

"We are definitely going ahead with the tour," said Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Peter Chingoka.

"ZC has an obligation to fulfil its obligations under the Future Tours programme."

Zimbabwe are scheduled to leave home on 11 January and return on 8 February.

Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds has voiced concerns about their proposed tour to Pakistan in March.

The 32-year-old said he was deeply concerned about the level of security in the country.

"I'm not interested in going into a situation that's dangerous, where people are getting killed and hurt," Symonds told Brisbane's Sunday Mail.
