Commandoes guard the South Africa players at practice in Lahore |
South Africa will continue with their Pakistan tour despite Thursday's bombs in Karachi which killed 130 people.
A Cricket South Africa spokesman said the Pakistan Cricket Board and security forces had guaranteed their safety but they would monitor the situation.
"The PCB held a high level meeting with the security authorities and Home Secretary," said Brian Basson.
"They assured us of the squad's safety and that security around the team will remain at the highest level."
The team are currently in Lahore, but were sufficiently disturbed by the bombings, linked to the return to the country of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, to call a meeting to discuss the future of the tour.
"We have accepted these assurances and the tour will continue," said Basson.
"CSA will, however, monitor the situation carefully."
The players have been protected by uniformed and plain clothes police and commandoes since arriving in Pakistan last month.
The two sides are scheduled to continue their one-day international series in Lahore on Saturday, followed by games in Faisalabad, Multan and Karachi.
It had been thought the Karachi match, on 29 October, may be moved to another venue.
Bomb attacks in the city have disrupted previous series with New Zealand flying home in 2002 after an explosion close to their hotel, which killed 14 people.
South Africa refused to play there the following year and in 2005, England declined to play a five-day Test in the city, although they did take part in a one-day fixture.
