England resume on Saturday at 169-7 after struggling against India's bowlers following a delayed start on Friday Anil Kumble has Chris Tremlett in all sorts of trouble as India continue to keep the pressure on England's lower order Tremlett finally falls to Kumble for a handy 20 and Monty Panesar departs cheaply after edging Zaheer Khan to the slips Kumble then bowls James Anderson to complete an efficient mopping-up job by India, with England all out for 198 Dinesh Karthik and Wasim Jaffer weather a tight opening spell from England's bowlers and get India off to a solid start The opening pair are made to work hard for their runs but manage to reach the lunch interval unscathed at 40-0 Anderson can't quite hold on to a very tricky chance when Karthik drives through the covers after the lunch interval And Jaffer also enjoys a reprieve after Ian Bell puts down a diving effort at gully off the bowling of Tremlett India's openers notch up a century partnership and both pass 50, while England start to let the frustration show Nothing seems to be going England's way as Monty Panesar has a series of decent shouts for lbw turned down But Tremlett has Jaffer caught behind for 62 to provide England's first breakthrough and leave India 149-1 at tea The first ball after tea sees Alastair Cook snap up Karthik at short-leg off Panesar, bringing Sachin Tendulkar in at 149-2 Tendulkar suffers a crunching blow on his helmet from Anderson but steers India into the lead with Rahul Dravid Tendulkar acknowledges applause for his 11,000th Test run and looks to be working towards a 100 partnership with Dravid But Dravid is fooled in the flight by Panesar and falls for 37 to a diving catch in the covers by Bell, leaving the score 246-3 Michael Vaughan still has plenty to think about overnight with India 56 runs ahead at 254-3 when bad light stops play
