Zaheer bowled excellently on a pitch favouring batsmen |
Man of the match Zaheer Khan said India produced a "perfect" performance to thrash Bangladesh by an innings. The tourists piled up 610-3 declared before Zaheer took a match haul of 7-88 as they won the two-Test series 1-0.
"It's a great achievement to finish the match in three days. It was a very good effort in tough conditions," he said.
"It was hot and everyone put in a lot of effort. It was wonderful in tough conditions to pick up a wicket (Javed Omar) with the first ball each time."
Man of the series Sachin Tendulkar, one of four Indians to score a century in the first innings, was pleased to have wrapped up the series after a frustrating draw in Chittagong.
"In the last match half of the time was rained off but we still pushed ourselves and created opportunties, although it wasn't to be," he said.
"But this was excellent for us. The bowlers needed to come up with a special effort and they put us on top on the second evening.
"In this heat the batters also showed character and it eventually boils down to how determined you are."

Bangladesh skipper Habibul Bashar was left to reflect on the disastrous decision to put the Indians in after winning the toss.
Bashar, who managed only nine runs in the match, also lamented the performance of the top-order batsman.
"It wasn't the right decision to field first but we expected to pick up some wickets in the first session.
"We knew it was going to be hard work for the bowlers because it was hot but there was some moisture in the wicket and it was going to flatten on the second and third days.
"It's not good that the top order has not clicked, we have to start our innings better, but we were playing Test cricket after a long time and hopefully we will get it right next time."
