India skipper Rahul Dravid receives the series trophy |
Rain in Chittagong prevented any play in the final match of the one-day series between Bangladesh and India. Pools of water were left on the outfield and the match officials decided there was no prospect of play after an early afternoon inspection.
"We feel sorry for the crowd but the ground conditions were just not good enough," said umpire Asoka de Silva.
India therefore won the series 2-0, a measure of consolation after their shock World Cup defeat by Bangladesh.
The two sides begin a two-match Test series in Chittagong on Friday.
India will be reinforced by the arrival of batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and leg-spinner Anil Kumble.
Bangladesh, meanwhile, have also rung the changes with former skipper Khaled Mashud recalled along with Mehrab Hossain, Rajin Saleh, Tushar Imran and Enamul Haque Jr.
