| Wellington chairman Adam Byram has spoken of his delight at bringing ex-West Indies star Phil Simmons to the Birmingham Premier Division club. Byram told BBC Radio Shropshire: "Phil is a wonderful signing. "He's done a lot in the game and he's a respected name with bat and ball. He'll give the whole club a lift." All-rounder Simmons played 26 times for the West Indies and in 1996 helped Leicestershire to the County title. He has also coached Zimbabwe.
