Tour Match, Grace Road: Leicestershire 315-9d v Pakistan 14-0

India star Dinesh Mongia fired an unbeaten century as Leicestershire compiled 315-9 on day one of their three-day tour match with Pakistan.

Mongia shared 174 with Jon Sadler, who smashed 14 fours and three sixes before he was caught and bowled for 92.

It was key after Matthew Boyce, making his first-class debut for the Foxes, fell for four and HD Ackerman lasted only four deliveries for a duck.

Salman Butt and Imran Farhat made a watchful start with 14-0 in reply.

The Pakistan bowlers stuck to their task well on a hot day at Grace Road.

Mohammad Sami defied a slow pitch to capture 3-53 in his 17 overs.

Mongia and Darren Robinson shared 58 before the opener was defeated by Farhat's opening delivery, a top-spinner that knocked back his off-stump.

Farhat also held a sharp return catch to dismiss Sadler, who hammered 18 in one over from Shahid Afridi, with the final ball before tea.
