Paceman Taylor sparks India crash
Fourth Test, Kingston, day one (stumps): India 200 v West Indies

Corey Collymore and Jerome Taylor (right) celebrate one of the latter's five successes
Taylor had a dream day on his home ground

Jerome Taylor's first five-wicket Test haul helped West Indies dismiss India for just 200 on the first day of the fourth and final Test in Jamaica.

It needed a stand of 93 from captain Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble (45) to prevent embarrassment for the tourists.

Paceman Taylor (5-50) bowled a fine spell to help reduce India to 102-6 before Dravid and Kumble stood firm.

But Corey Collymore (2-17) had Dravid caught behind and Dwayne Bravo (2-68) bowled Kumble to put the hosts on top.

Taylor's dream day on his home ground began with a delightful outswinger that took the top of Wasim Jaffer's off-stump to dismiss him for one after India won the toss and chose to bat.

That came after Virender Sehwag had been superbly caught at short leg by Ramnaresh Sarwan off Pedro Collins.

It would be great if we can bat all of Saturday and Sunday and put ourselves in a really strong position

But Sarwan was hurt in Collins's second over when a Jaffer pull hit him just below the knee and was taken to hospital for X-rays.

Captain Brian Lara later said nothing was broken and he expects him to bat.

India scored painfully slowly to reach 29-2 off 29 overs and it would have been worse had Lara not spilled an easy chance when VVS Laxman edged Collymore to slip.

Laxman did fall soon after lunch when he lost patience and drove Bravo to gully, while Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif got into the teens before Taylor dimissed them in an excellent middle session for the hosts.

It got even better for West Indies when Collymore removed Mahendra Dhoni for three.

Dravid frustrated them in his 215-ball knock which spanned almost six hours and contained 10 fours, but when he and Kumble were parted the end came in a hurry.
