Guyana have been crowned the inaugural Stanford 20-20 Champions in the competition held in St John's, Antigua. They beat Trinidad and Tobago by five wickets in the final and were awarded a $1 million (�530,000) prize.
Trinidad and Tobago batted first and hit 175-6 in their 20 overs with Daren Ganga making 47 and Denesh Ramdin an unbeaten 38 off 14 balls.
Guyana sealed the win after Narsingh Deonarine smashed a six off the penultimate delivery.
Ramnaresh Sarwan was unbeaten on 49 while opener Travis Dowlin got Guyana's innings off to a flier with 80 off 60 balls.
Backed by billionaire Allen Stanford and cricket legends such as Sir Gary Sobers, Sir Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd, the competition featured sides representing 19 different Caribbean nations.
