Proteas, Aussies ditch super-subs
South Africa and Australia will snub the International Cricket Council by playing without super-subs in a series of five one-day internationals.

The decision was announced following an exciting Twenty20 international in Johannesburg which the hosts won.

The first one-day international is on Sunday in Centurion Park.

Match referee Chris Broad said: "Graeme Smith and Ricky Ponting (the captains) have agreed that the super-sub will not be used in a playing capacity."

After 21 March, the ICC's super-sub rule, introduced last year to make one-day internationals more interesting, will be scrapped after widespread criticism.
