Australia delay Ashes ticket sale
The Ashes
England retain the Ashes after last summer's momentous victory
England cricket fans will have to wait until 18 June before applying for tickets for next winter's Ashes series.

Australians, however, can get their hands on tickets from 1 June.

Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland said: "We will be aiming to ensure as many Australians as possible have access to next summer's matches."

There are fears that ticket touts could seriously disrupt preparations for the Ashes, which England will defend in the five-Test series from 23 November.

CA is encouraging Australian fans to register their interest on its website - www.cricket.com.au.

"In establishing this offer, we will be aiming to reward Australian fans who register as members of the Cricket Family, said Sutherland.

"If you're an Australian and want to support the team in the Ashes, register online now."

Last month England captain Michael Vaughan said travelling fans "are very clever" and would have "special ways of getting tickets."

There will be no official details about pricing until the tickets go on sale.
