Ganguly will be under pressure to score big in Pakistan |
Sourav Ganguly made a fluent half century for Bengal in his last match before India's tour of Pakistan. The former skipper hit 59 against Tamil Nadu in more than two and a half hours, facing 95 balls on day two in Calcutta.
It was a boost for the 33-year-old, whose selection for the Pakistan tour came after he was dropped for the final Test against Sri Lanka last month.
Virender Sehwag, Parthiv Patel and Anil Kumble also got in match practice in the Ranji Trophy ahead of the tour.
They will fly out separately from the rest of India's squad, which leaves on Thursday for three Tests, with the first starting in Lahore on 13 January.
Ganguly had initially opted out of the match against Tamil Nadu but had a change of heart after pressure from the selectors.
They were annoyed he had sat out the previous round of games and demanded he proved his form.
