All-rounder Razzaq provides balance to the Pakistan team |
Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has been named in an 18-man training camp ahead of the Test series against India, with Hasan Raza on the sidelines. It had been thought Razzaq might miss the start of the series after being admitted to hospital in Karachi with a severe chest infection.
Razzaq missed the Test series against England with an elbow probelm but returned in the one-day internationals.
Raza's exclusion frees up a place for uncapped batsman Rafatullah Mohmand.
Mohmand, 29, who also bowls left-arm spin, hit a half-century for Pakistan A in a win against England in December.
And there is also a place in the camp for Umar Gul, the 21-year-old seamer.
He impressed in Pakistan's victory over India in the second Test in 2004 but was then out for a year with a back problem.
