Glamorgan and England seamer Simon Jones said his MBE was a huge lift after missing the final Ashes Test and the Pakistan tour with an ankle injury. "It's been a frustrating few months, it's reminded me of when I was out for a long time with my knee," said Jones.
"But to become an MBE is unbelievable. When you look at some of the legends who have received awards like this, I never thought I'd be doing the same.
"To win the Ashes made an awesome summer, one which I'll never forget."
Fellow Welshman Geraint Jones is also appointed an MBE after keeping wicket for England throughout the Ashes series.
