India unchanged for South Africa
India have shone under the new regime of Dravid and Chappell
India have shone under the new regime of Dravid and Chappell
India have named an unchanged squad for the first three matches of a series against South Africa, which starts in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

It means there is again no place for Sourav Ganguly, who was dismissed for nought while playing for East Zone in Saturday's Duleep Trophy final.

"The team has done well and we did not want to change the combination," said chairman of selectors Kiran More.

India carried off the one-day series against Sri Lanka 6-1.

And India's selection committee, which met in Vadodara on Saturday, decided to retain the same squad for the matches against South Africa.

Sri Lanka had been the number two side in the world in one-day cricket before unravelling in India.

That tag now applies to South Africa, who beat New Zealand 4-0 on home soil recently.

India captain Rahul Dravid said: "South Africa are also on a roll but we are playing some good cricket.

"They are now number two in the world, so we can do a giant-killing act on them as well."

India squad: R Dravid (captain), V Sehwag, S Tendulkar, G Gambhir, Y Singh, M Kaif, S Raina, M Dhoni, JP Yadav, I Pathan, A Agarkar, M Kartik, H Singh, S Sreesanth, RP Singh.
